HUMAN ANIMALS This book called HUMAN ANIMALS focusses on Sir Charles GD Roberts' animal stories, the 'Father of Canadian Literature'. ROBERTS originated stories that treat animals with brains and feelings not unlike ours. |
GENTLE BEAU Helene Lacelle's fascination with fashion magazines and the pretty people who pop-ulate them, has led her to create a comic-strip style book, based on nothing but how words sound and how serious some people take themselves. |

THE POETRY OF PAYNE ROBERT THOMAS PAYNE PERHAPS - A PARIS POEM - Perhaps it wasn't me that night perhaps it wasn't you. We were in Paris that much is true. Perhaps as we stood by that tower happilly embracing in a soft summer shower as we skipped laughter and coins across that rain dappled river, that Seine didn't capture me. Our kisses disappeared like magic. Perhaps it wasn't really me or really you. But I do know that the sparks from all those Paris matches and all those Paris lights, couldn't outshine the tiny flames we briefly held between us. |

PAGES OF CANADA Every year we ask creative Canadians to contribute a page or two (yes weve had so many two page stories that we felt expanding it would be an option for the contributors.) So next year if you have a story that needs to be longer than one page, you got two. |
The Poetry of PAYNE Robert Thomas Payne has been writing most of his adult life. For the past 8 years he's been living in an alley off Queen St. West in Toronto 'the homeless capital of Canada' all monies made from this book go directly to ROB |

THE ..POETRY ...OF HUNGER THE HERMIT WRITINGS Although he never spoke in words, he spoke in writings. He started to leave these pencil and pen thoughts in my mailbox and sometimes I'd return his thoughts with mine for him to pick up. His real name he never uttered to me as he walked by my home on Hurdman Rd. When I said hello he lifted his head his plastered dirty hair never left his head - totally not messable glued forever to his skull, his lips silent. He lived alone in the woods by the riverside. He seldom, if ever, talked to anyone. I set out to say hello and to chat with him and to give him things that I thought he could use in his igloo shaped home hidden in the woods. ..........................Peter Evanchuck |
THE POETRY OF HUNGER THE HERMIT WRITINGS 'HAPPY DREAMS' Last night at the Mission I had dreams on the mat laid on the concrete floor. My hands were my pillow and I cupped them to hold my head higher than my shoulders so that I could sleep and perchance not dream. Dreams that do little more than remind me of the mistakes I made along the tarmack of my life. But last night I remained far away from the dark deep abyss of despair and only saw the beautiful face of her. Who long ago in class smiled and laughed with me after school and before she went home to her life that only enlarged and me to mine that only diminished.
